Lackagh Parish Centre


The next meeting of the Western Family History Association will be held on Wednesday 14th March 2018 at Lackagh Parish Centre, commencing at 8pm. Our speaker will be well-known local genealogist and DNA ‘detective’, Martin Curley of Soghain Genes, who is from Guilka, Menlough.

The topic of Martin’s talk will be how DNA works, what is involved in DNA testing and how to take advantage of it. Martin will focus on the story of Ellen Hansberry and how her descendants were contacted and reconnected with her relatives in Galway. The presentation will highlight the use of DNA in tracing relatives in the Diaspora.
