“My journey in tracing the history of the Corless Family of Conagher, Milltown”
Our AGM will take place on 17 January at 8pm in Lackagh Parish Centre. Anne Bruzzi, Secretary of the Association, will present a talk on her family history research. The title of her talk is “My journey in tracing the history of the Corless Family of Conagher, Milltown, Co. Galway”.
Coming from a small nuclear family with an older father and growing up in a place where she had no relatives, Anne was always interested in getting to know her extended family and where they came from. Starting with family stories and oral history, she will outline her research and sources which enabled her to piece together a large part of the genealogy of the Corless family of Conagher, Milltown, Co. Galway. Emigration and U.S. Naturalisation records were a valuable source of information which verified a lot of family stories. During this journey, she has established contacts and friendship with extended family in Ireland, the U.S.A, Australia and Holland, who also share this interest.
This meeting is also the Annual General Meeting of the Association.
