We held our annual Genealogy Open Day for Heritage Week on Saturday 20 August 2016 at Lackagh Parish Centre. This was our third annual Open Day, following the success of our 2014 and 2015 Heritage Week Open Days.

Would you like to trace your family history? Come along to our Open Day where members of the association will demonstrate and give guidance, on a one to one basis, on how you can search your family history and how you can access essential information on-line. Our team of experienced mentors will be available to the public for free advice on family history.

Heritage Week 2016 ran from Saturday 20 August to Sunday 28 August. The event listing on the Heritage Week website can be viewed here.

Also that evening, our friends at the Lackagh Museum and Community Development Association launched their latest publication, The Fair of Turloughmore, written by Michael J. Hurley to mark the 400th anniversary of the granting of a patent in August 1616 by King James I for a fair in nearby Derrymacloughna.
