Our September meeting will take place on Wednesday 30 September at 8pm. Jane Halloran Ryan will speak on the work being done by Ireland Reaching Out. Her talk will focus on how being a volunteer and engaging with the IrelandXO website helps to assist with communicating with the global diaspora. Ireland Reaching Out is a volunteer-based, non-profit initiative which aims to build links between the global Irish Diaspora and parishes of origin in Ireland.

Jane Halloran Ryan is the Ireland Reaching Out Heritage Resource Manager. Jane’s interest and experience in genealogy began in her teens, when she started her own family research. In addition to personal experience, she has a Certificate in History of Family & Genealogical Research Methods from the University of Limerick. She has practiced as a solicitor in the Clare and Limerick areas. She has also recently completed her MA in Local History at UL. Jane coordinates all IrelandXO volunteers, manages the message board, and is the main point of contact for those visiting their ancestors’ places of origin.

This talk will take place virtually via Zoom. Members need not register in advance – you will receive an invitation with a link to the meeting beforehand.

Non-members are also welcome to attend – please register below in order to receive the link to the meeting.
