Our next family history talk will be on Wednesday 13th October at 8:00 p.m. via Zoom.  Committee member Gerard Real will present on the topic:
From Policemen to Prisoners: Researching Irish Court and Prison Records
Do you have a villain in your family tree?  Was an ancestor ever in court?  Gerard will discuss the Irish Petty Sessions and Irish Prison records and how to access them.  He will also highlight some examples from County Galway and show how likely it is that some of your ancestors could have appeared in these records.
Gerard is the current treasurer of the Western Family History Association and has been extensively researching his ancestors for the last few years.  He is a native of Limerick and lives in Galway.  He has completed a course in Genealogy: Researching Your Family Tree with the University of Strathclyde.
