The Kearney Family of Lackagh
Our January Meeting was held on Wednesday 20 January at 8:00pm in Lackagh Parish Centre. WFHA member Frank Kearney gave a presentation on his genealogy research entitled Kearneys of Lackagh.
Frank Kearney was heavily involved in organizing a reunion of the Kearney Family of Lackagh in July 2012. The Kearney family have long been established in the Lackagh area, dating back to the late 1700s. A member of the clan, Fr Thomas Kearney, was responsible for the building of the old church in Lackagh in 1839. There are now over 500 different surnames scattered across the globe who are descendents of Kearneys of Lackagh.
The 2016 AGM took place after the lecture, and the following are the officers and committee members for 2016.
